No login. No middleman. No trust required.
Legacy copyright services hide verification behind a login wall and a password the certificate-owner controls. That's not verification โ that's a private database with a check-in counter.
Ecopyright is different. Our verification is public, anonymous, and free. Even better, every certificate is anchored to a public blockchain โ so even if Ecopyright disappeared tomorrow, your proof would survive.
Common verification questions
Do I need an account to verify a certificate? +
No. Verification is completely anonymous and free. Anyone with a reference number or a public verification URL can confirm a certificate โ no login, no email, no captcha.
Is there a limit on how many certificates I can verify? +
No. Unlimited free verifications. Verify thousands a day if you need to โ for example, an agency auditing its asset library.
Why does my verification say "blockchain anchor pending"? +
Brand-new certificates (less than 60 minutes old) may show "pending" while we wait for the next public blockchain confirmation. The certificate is already valid; the chain anchor just takes a few minutes to settle. Re-check after an hour and you'll see the final block reference.
Can I verify by uploading the file directly? +
Yes โ drag your file onto the verifier and we'll compute its SHA-256 hash and look up any matching certificate. This is the gold-standard verification: it proves the file you have is byte-identical to the registered work.
Is verification information private? +
Verification results display: author name, work title, registration date, file hash, and blockchain block. The work file itself is never exposed publicly โ only its fingerprint. If the author wants the file private, the certificate confirms ownership without revealing the content.
What if a certificate doesn't exist? +
You'll see a clear "Not found" message. This usually means a typo in the reference. Double-check the format (EC-YYYY-XX-XXXXXX) and try again. If you're sure the reference is correct, contact support@ecopyright.io.
